Services

The Animal Hospital provides a full range of services for your companion animal.

Preventative Healthcare/ Pediatric Healthcare/ Geriatric Healthcare:
Whether your pet is young or old, our veterinarians will help you plan for your pet’s preventative healthcare needs. We work with each client/pet to establish that individual’s needs to maintain a long lasting relationship.

The hallmark for good health care is the annual physical examination. We now recognize that an older pet needs more frequent care and encourage bi-annual exams for pets that are over the age of 7 years.

We discuss your pet’s environment and activity to decide which immunizations meet your pet’s needs.

Emergency / Intensive Care:
The Animal Hospital is well equipped to handle most medical emergencies and intensive care needs for your pet. Triangle Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas are available for after-hours emergencies.

Internal Medicine / Dermatology:
Our Veterinarians see a wide variety of internal medicine and dermatology cases. We can set up a diagnostic plan and treat allergies, skin disorders, endocrinopathies, gastrointestinal disease, urinary tract/kidney disease, heart disease, parasites, ear disease, behavioral, neurological, cancer and ocular problems.

Dentistry:
We perform routine cleanings, extractions, and oral surgeries.

Good oral hygiene can add years to your pet’s life. If you’ve noticed bad breath, discolored teeth or plaque build-up or if your pet is having trouble chewing, schedule an exam with our veterinarians to discuss your pet’s dental care needs.

The Animal Hospital uses state of the art monitoring equipment during each surgical/dental procedure including ECG, Pulse Oximetry, Blood Pressure, end tital CO2 and body temperature. All patients receive intravenous fluids and wake up from their procedure under a forced warm air blanket.

Your pet will also benefit from pre- and peri-operative pain control during their surgical or dental procedure.

In-Hospital and Reference Laboratory Services:
The Animal Hospital has an extensive In-hospital laboratory and also utilizes a relationship with a comprehensive reference diagnostic laboratory to meet your pet’s needs.

Radiology:
The Animal Hospital performs a variety of plain film x-ray techniques daily. Veterinary radiologists perform ultrasounds of the heart and abdomen.

Radiation Therapy for Hyperthyroid Cats:
The Animal Hospital houses RadCats-our radiation treatment center for hyperthyroid cats. To find more information about this service click on www.radcats.com.

Surgery:
The Animal Hospital houses a spacious surgical suite where we perform a variety of soft tissue surgical procedures. We utilize a Carbon Dioxide Laser that decreases surgical pain and reduces healing time.

If you would like a second opinion or need to discuss surgical options for your pet, please schedule an appointment with our veterinarians.

The Animal Hospital uses state of the art monitoring equipment during each surgical/dental procedure including ECG, Pulse Oximetry, Blood Pressure, end tital CO2 and body temperature. All patients receive IV fluids and peri-operative pain control.

Pharmacy:
The Animal Hospital maintains an extensive in-hospital pharmacy. To prescribe a medication for your pet we must have an active relationship with your pet (have performed a physical exam within the last 12 months).

Pain Control:
The Animal Hospital takes a multi-modal approach to pain control. We specialize in geriatric chronic pain control. Approaches include pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals, rehabilitation, acupuncture and dietary changes to help meet your pet’s pain control needs.

Your pet will also benefit from pre- and peri-operative pain control during the surgical and dental procedure.
