Pharmacy:
The Animal Hospital maintains a wide stock of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of our patients. Your companion animal must be a patient at the Hospital in order for our doctors to prescribe any medication for it.
If the Hospital does not carry a certain medication that our doctors wish to prescribe, then a doctor will phone that prescription to a pharmacy of your choice, such as CVS or Eckerd; many human medications also have a veterinary use. Should your companion animal need a special formulation of a medication, then a doctor will phone that prescription to Duke Central Pharmacy, a compounding pharmacy.
