Appointments begin at 8:00am and end half an hour before The Animal Hospital closes each day. Please schedule an appointment whenever possible so you do not have a long wait.

The Animal Hospital offers two types of appointment to aid your companion animal: services that require a doctor and services that a veterinary assistant may perform. Veterinary assistants generally perform the following:

• intranasal Bordetella vaccinations (the injectable version must be administered by a doctor)
• minor diagnostic tests (on blood, stool, or urine samples previously requested by a doctor)
• administering subcutaneous fluids
• nail trims
• expressing of anal glands
• shaving of mats

A doctor's skills are needed for more medically involved treatments. Please bear in mind that if you schedule an appointment for something listed above but remember at the time of the appointment that you need a doctor to see your pet, you might have to wait to be worked in; the doctor's schedule is separate from the assistant's schedule. Just let us know what your companion animal needs and the reception staff will ensure your appointment is on the correct schedule.
